Atomic: Welcome to the interview brett
Brett: Thanks for having me
Atomic: It must be a nice change to have a cs team to command again ?
Brett: Definately.. it's about time :)
Atomic: So with this new team, what will your responsibility's be ?
Brett: Just the usual stuff like before. Roster management, contract management, payroll management, liaison with global sponsors, month in review, demo revision and suggestions and mentoring etc.
Atomic: With Fawad's (hinata) recent departure from the xl organization, how does this effect your duties ?
Brett: Not much at all really. I had forgotten hinata had left until someone asked in #xl where he had gone. With my power and duties as manager, and fawad as model/co-founder, no effect on the team/management/operations of #xl will be seen. Remember that I have taken a team to #1 GA ladder and won a cz world championship.
Atomic: It is rumored that you might be the strategical master behind the xl roster, the unsung hero, the man behind the scenes or the master puppeteer, will we see the Bretts strat books return for this new team ?
Brett: You will! When the team decided to take a break and everyone thought I was sitting around doing nothing, I was writing up the new 2007 xl strategic book which is issued and must be learnt by every #xl member. The strategic book is now finished for the moment, with minor updates and adjustments sent to the players as they are made. I won't say much more, but yes; the strat book is back!
Atomic: Any indication as to the length, or word count of these multiple books ?
Brett: Well lets say my average English essay is 3000 words, and I hate English. Give me something I am confident in writing about and enjoy writing about you you get a text document creeping into the megabytes, the word count per map is roughly 20,000.
Atomic: As rumour of a new xl team spread many eager sponsors offered their services, with both financial and equipment support. You turned all these down, specifically from company's such as ATi NVIDIA and intel. Any reasoning behind continuing to pay the teams salary's from your Woolworths earnings ?
Brett: I'll be totally honest with this answer. The reason is money. I make enough profit off the team as it is and I don't want to split my share between sponsors that are going to want massive chunks to cover advertisement etc. If I keep supporting it with my own pocket, and get money in return that is suitable.. I'm happy.
Atomic: And finally the question on everyone's lips. Will tolkaNo return to hash xl during 2007 ?
Brett: I don't really want to answer this.. But keep your eyes peeled as Adam should be making special guest appearances every so-often. But regarding his permanent status back in #xl, you will have to wait and see :)
