I've watched a bunch of movies lately, though i might share my views on them so if you're sitting at home bored you might want to take a look !
The Sunshine
Sometime in the future our sun is dieing, causing a great freeze over earth. A space mission is dispatched to reignite the sun with a shitload of fissile material, by flying there and letting off a nuke. If you set aside the obvious flaws and remember it is a sci-fi movie it is actually somewhat plausible. The acting was fantastic, each cast member acting their part really well, they were even able to act more scared then method. The first 2/3's of the movie was a great watch, each character had a reasonably well developed back story, enough characters to keep you interested but not millions like lost. The characters develop as you would expect for humans to be alone together for 18 months, and you watch some go over their breaking point, a really convincing effort. Those of you who have seen 2001 a space odyssey will immediately pick up on some really obvious similarities, but luckily they didn't go overboard and did distinguish themselves as their own film. In the last 1/3'd of the movie it because insanely weird. The storyline trys and is reasonably successful in suspending your belief, such that you can understand the purpose of such a mission, yet the last 1/3 literally drops into space monsters leaving you sitting there thinking 'What, the, fuck". Although it isn't poorly acted or scripted, it just has no flow with the original story and feels like such a let down to what could have been an incredible film.

Fracture
Fracture follows a young lawyer, who makes his break into the biggest law firm in the city. As he wraps up his work at his previous job he has 1 final case to close, and on first look it is an open/shut murder case. Not paying much attention he assumes it will be a walkover to win, when the defendant being a clever old bastard manages to hide and destroy the required evidence to convict himself. It then becomes a battle of wits between the young gun lawyer and the old man, as the young lad races to find the evidence required for prosecution, before the court case is scheduled to be heard.
The main character played by Ryan Gosling should find his way back to 'The Notebook', it would be neck and neck between him and keanu reeves in acting and personality stakes. He struggles to pull off a convincing lawyer, let alone a smart one, slurring his words and holding a disinterested stance throughout most of the film. The saving grace was the script which took a few twists and turns keeping me entertained enough to watch it through.
It was never designed to be a block buster film and it was certainly much better then i expected, well worth a watch when you get a chance.

The Lookout
Joseph Gordon-Levitt (he looked heaps like those kids who are in the movies released around christmas ... )plays a promising school student who is involved in a car accident which changes his life. He is effected by a mental disability disallowing him to remember things for very long. He takes a job at a local bank, after hours, as a janitor when he finds himself caught up in a robbery.
The premise of the movie was quite good, and the acting was mostly flawless. Unfortunately the plot gets a little bit jumbled and the pace seems to change often. None of the actors really manage to pull off badass bank thieves too well, especially the ring leader, who looks similar to Filtch from Harry Potter.
The characters are reasonably interesting to keep you sitting there, and you want to watch the retard to make sure he survives. Not a bad flick but could have been fleshed out a little bit more.
